Who runs this

DIPIAN is operated by Robin Ren, as an individual. There is no company registration number. Write hello@robinren.me.

What DIPIAN is

DIPIAN is a darkroom for photos you already shot. You put in 1–4 of your own frames of the same take. One develop makes one print: an analog-style better camera position of that take.

It is not text-to-image. It does not invent a different place, person, or product. The scene stays. The subject stays. Only the camera moves.

What we process

Photos you upload to develop (the negatives). They stay with the account after the bath so you can see them and develop from them on another device.

The print from a successful bath, kept on your account so you can open it in Keepers and download it.

Account data: email and how you signed in (email code, Apple, or Google).

Web payment is handled by Creem as Merchant of Record. We receive checkout status so we can credit your roll. We do not store your full card number.

A session cookie (dipian_session) so you stay signed in, for about 30 days.

A language preference so the site remembers 中文 or English.

If you turn on develop alerts, we keep this iPhone's push token so we can tell you when a print is ready or a bath failed. Sign-out and account deletion remove it.

How long we keep it

The frames you develop and the print from a successful bath stay with the account. Sign in on another device and you can still open the print, hold to see the negatives, and develop from them again. Deleting that pair or the account removes both.

The two compare answers — still them? would you post? — stay on this machine. They are not sent back.

Cookies and analytics

The site may load Google Analytics 4 (gtag) when a measurement ID is configured. That uses analytics cookies such as _ga to count visits. We do not use the analytics stream to identify you to sell ads.

You can block cookies in the browser. The session cookie is needed to stay signed in.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and prints. Write hello@robinren.me.

You can sign out from Settings. You can delete the account from Settings. Deleting the account removes the user row and sessions we keep for sign-in.

Children

DIPIAN is not for children under 16. Do not create an account or upload photos if you are under 16. If we learn an account belongs to a child, we will delete it.
